Café De Pieper at the corner of the Princengracht (canal) has been around since 1665. It used to be a potato trading (Piepers ...) It's a little subsided, but beautiful in its original state: stained-glass windows, all brown. Is little to small and low bar position, but fortunately there are many small tables. It is a good cross section of the population of Amsterdam: from lords, groups bubbling colleagues. They also come here for the great service; guys with white shirts and ties operate here because to your table. An absolute must!
